This meet-up group will support a variety of events that benefit PAWS of Tinley Park. We are a no-kill animal shelter with a 38 year history. We find homes for approximately 1,100 furry friends each year. One hundred percent of all donations support our animals as we are a volunteer shelter. Our events include dog walks, bingo, dances, auctions, flower sales, and just about any event that will raise funds for the animals. Either attend or help plan or run one of our events.

Pets for Vets, a national 501(c)3 organization, is an entirely volunteer run organization that has chapters throughout the US, and most recently in Chicago. Essentially, our organization pairs veterans suffering from PTSD or TBI with shelter dogs at no cost to the veteran. We're going to a different nature site each Sunday, June 2nd to August 25th, in the south and southwest suburbs to take a short hike, try to identify some plants and birds, and meet other people interested in nature. The walk is led by two Sierra Club members, who are nature enthusiasts but not experts, so the approach will be collaborative. Guest leaders may appear on occasion.
